Obituary for Laura Renee Seidman (Cima)
Pisgah Forest - Laura Renee Seidman, 57, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023.
Laura was the daughter of Charles William Jr. and Evelyn Josephine Cima, who preceded her in death. Laura was born in Hammond, IN and grew up in South Holland IL.
She was very gifted in music, (played piano and saxophone), and gymnastics. Laura graduated from the University of Illinois where she was drum major for the Marching Illini (Best band in the land), and a member of AOII sorority. She went on to graduate from Chicago Kent University law school. Laura was an attorney in Florida, where she met her husband of 25 years, Lee Seidman. He survives. Also surviving are Laura’s sister Elizabeth (Mitchell) Nuss of Loda, IL, brother-in-law Jesse (Ann) Seidman of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Laura moved to the Pisgah/Brevard area several years ago. She and her husband loved the area and Laura referred to it as her happy place.
Although Laura battled health issues, she did what she could to use her experiences to support, encourage and bring hope to others struggling with Lupus and Sarcoma. Laura created the Sarcoma Initiative Facebook page for just such caring and compassionate support, encouragement, hope and resources. Laura adored her dogs Nina and Thor. They provided her with much comfort during her health struggles.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10am, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow the mass in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
