Cedar Mountain – Lois Maude Stewart Perry, 86, a loving wife, mother, grandmother “Grammie” and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
Born in Pickens County, SC, she was a resident of Cedar Mountain since 1949. She was the daughter of the late James Henry Stewart and Flora Jane Sentelle Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert Smith Perry, her sisters, Sarah Stewart Anders, Helen Stewart Gravley and her brother Buddy Stewart, granddaughter, Cynthia Perry, daughter-in-law, Sandy Perry, and son-in-law, Ernie Thompson.
Mrs. Perry was a member of Anchor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Perry retired from the Control Lab of the Brevard DuPont Plant. She was a wonderful homemaker and was given to hospitality. Whenever anyone stopped by her home she was quick to welcome them and offer them a cappuccino and something to eat. Her pantry always had a variety of Debbie cakes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her interests and hobbies included cake decorating, sewing and painting. She was also known for her photography of family, friends, wildlife, flowers, sunrise and sunsets.
Surviving are her children, Alan Perry and wife Desiree of Cedar Mtn., son Jack Perry of Cedar Mtn., Pat Perry Smith and husband Roger of Cedar Mtn., Barbara (Barbie) Perry Johnson and husband Ken of Little River, Karen Perry Murr and husband Travis of East Fork, and Kevin Perry and wife Cherie of Cedar Mtn. Sister: Doris Stewart Anders Grandchildren: Scott Perry, Valerie Perry Surrett, Tracy Price, Brandon Price, Bobby Thompson, Lauri Thompson St.Pierre, Brandon Thompson, Nathan Johnson, Seth Johnson, Weston Murr, James Perry, Averen Perry, Leah Perry and Kylie Ray, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 3, at Anchor Baptist Church with Reverends Randy Barton, Nathan Johnson, Alan Perry and Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be at McGaha Cemetery in Cedar Mountain.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday, December 2, at the church.
