Obituary for Luella Galloway Owen
Lake Toxaway - Luella Galloway Owen, servant of God and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022. She was born on July 31, 1943.
A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she married Beacher O’Neil Franks who passed away on May 6, 1966. She later married the love of her life, Herbert Homer Owen and they enjoyed 48 years of happy marriage.
She leaves behind five children, Beacher Franks and wife, Becky, Jeff Franks and wife Anita, David Franks and wife Nicolle, Penny Thompson and husband, Christopher and Blain Owen and partner, Cat Thammanoon Woodruff. She has five grandchildren. Maranda Farnham and husband Zach, Katelyn Stills and husband Andrew, McKayla Hunter and husband Aaron, Eli Franks and Porter Thompson. The most recent additions are her five great grandchildren and they were her pride and joy - Wiley Jack, Sam, Ruby Grace, Addison Grace and Asher.
Luella is preceded in death by her father Monroe and mother Ola Galloway and eight of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Francis Ashe and Annette Bradley.
Luella loved being outdoors and gardening. Her passion to reveal nature’s beauty was evident each spring and summer when she spent countless hours working in the flower garden in front of her house. In the fall, Luella loved canning vegetables, baking and putting her artistic talents to work sewing and creating items for her home, family and friends. She loved putting her creative touch on anything that could be transformed by spray paint. Christmas was Luella’s special season. She loved making things and staying busy, but her biggest love of all was her family and her two dogs, Ola and Grace.
Memorial services will be held 1pm, Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home.
