Obituary for Margaret Allison Heath (Allison)
Margaret Allison Heath, known to most as Peggy, gained her heavenly wings, after a long, hard fight with cancer, on Monday, April 24, 2023.
She lived an amazing 83 years on this Earth as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, Gram to her two granddaughters and the best Gigi to her great-grandson.
She worked for Olin, as a lab technician on the paper side, before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Peggy was an active member at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church, an avid participant in the Women’s Ministry group and a part of the best friend group, the “Fab 4.” Peggy was born on March 12, 1940, to RV and Hattie M. Allison. When she married John Henry, she married into a very large family and gained a lot of siblings. She will be missed greatly by them.
She is preceded in death by her father (RV Allison), her mother (Hattie McKinney), her sister (Dorothy Dot Rogers) and one half-sister (Geneva Galloway), and her loving husband of 44 years (John Henry Heath). She is survived by her 3 sons, John Kevin (Tammy), James Alan and Wayne Thomas; her 2 granddaughters, Emily Fanning (Kevin) and Jessica Heath; and 1 great-grandson (Jacob Henry Fanning).
Gram’s house was the hub of family holiday gatherings, and she enjoyed hosting as many family members as she could! She enjoyed vacationing with her family, her brother-in-law, sister-in-law and the “Fab 4.” Her smile, spirit and strength could light up a room and we are all lucky to have her as a part of our lives.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Women’s Ministry at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church or make a donation directly to Carr’s Hll Baptist Church in her honor as this was a huge part of her life.
Visitation will be on Saturday April 29, 2023, at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church, from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens at 11:00 am on Monday, May 1, 2023.
