Obituary for Marvella Elizabeth Mungerro (Staton)
Brevard – Marvella Staton Mungerro, age 87, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 with her family by her side.
A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin E. and Louella Galloway Stanton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Mungerro, one brother, Harold Staton and two sisters, Charlotte Sheldon and Kay McGrath.
Mrs. Mungerro was a member of Calvary Baptist Mission Church. She was employed by Transylvania Times as a newspaper advertiser and with Care Partners Hospice as a patient sitter. She loved people and was loved by all that knew her. Marvella dearly loved and adored her family.
Survivors include three brothers, Eugene Staton and wife Lillian of Brevard, Cecil Staton and wife Winky of Rock Hill, SC and Ellis Staton of Billings, Montana, one sister, Sandra Hamilton of Brevard, one step-daughter, Diane Tullos of Texas, two grandsons, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the nurses and staff of The Oaks of Brevard for the excellent care given to Marvella during the few years.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Mission Church with the Revs. Shane Greene and Shane Hardesty officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
