Brevard, NC – Mary Edna Leopard, 99, widow of John Parker Leopard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.
Born in Franklin, NC she was the daughter of the late William Z. McCall and Essie Hedden McCall.
Mrs. Leopard retired from Sangamo, Pickens, SC and enjoyed sitting on her sunporch, knitting, quilting and the outdoors while tending to her vegetable garden.
She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Powell Schmidt of Anderson, SC, Shirley Geitner of Altamonte Springs, FL and Brenda Myers Hohstadt of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Sheila P. Summey (Hamp), Jynene P. Burgess (Johnny), Angie P. Hall (Tommy) and their families all of Pickens, SC, Charlene P. Mayfield (Walter) of Anderson, SC, Leigh Ann Baron (Russ) and family of Longwood, FL , Bradley Leopard, Kelly L. Baker; numerous great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Leopard was preceded in death by her son, Parker Eugene Leopard.
A family service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 and Mrs. Leopard will be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Brevard, NC. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Meals on Wheels, Brevard and the Assurance Program with the Brevard Sheriff’s Dept. as well as the entire staff of The Retreat, Easley, SC and Brookdale Hospice for their patience and tender care of Mrs. Leopard over the last few months.
