Obituary

Mary Lou Tucker passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Mary Lou was born to Eugene & Rosetta Arrowood Tinsley on March 27, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband Cleveland “Bud” Tucker, and her parents, Eugene & Rosetta Tinsley. She is survived by her daughter, Marche Tucker of Hendersonville and son, Douglas Tucker of Brevard, and her beloved granddaughter, Krista Tucker of Brevard whom she adored.
She is also survived by her siblings, Nadine Galloway (Raymond), Frank Tinsley, Jerry Tinsley (Margaret) of Brevard and Lille Mae Hanson (Joe) of Springfield, PA. As well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
Mary Lou displayed a giving heart to all who were blessed to know her. She was selfless and hospitable. She enjoyed baking for others and shared her passions with baking, decorating, collecting, thrift store shopping, and cooking with all who encountered her. “If Mary Lou was one of her many delicious recipes, she would be Angel Food Mix” (Quoted by Kay Anderson)
Her smile was infectious and genuine, her love was expressed through doing for others and her words for others were always kind. Mary Lou was a role model and “second mom” to many young people. She loved her family and mentored many children throughout her entire life.
Mary Lou was a hard worker and excelled in the insurance industry for more than 35 years. She will be missed by many and her kindness and generosity will be felt for generations. Mary Lou loved Hallmark and Christmas time. Her home was full of light and glitter at Christmas and she welcomed all in.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 5, 2020 on Brevard Wesleyan Church’s property at 263 Brown Road, Pisgah Forest, NC from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The service will follow the visitation there on the property for all of those that would like to stay. Due to COVID, in the event of inclement weather the family will proceed to Brevard Wesleyan Church’s sanctuary for a FAMILY ONLY service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brevard Fire Dept., Transylvania County Sheriffs Dept. or Pardee Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Program.

Mary Lou was a pleasure to do business with. She was a bright spot when she was in our antique mall. Our heart felt sympathy to her family that she loved so much. She was a wonderful woman with a beautiful smile. We will miss her.

We have so many good memories of Mary Lou. We first met her at Little Cove Mission Church which was sponsored by First Baptist of Brevard,NC. She was a very young lady and we worked with the young people. She never failed to let us know how much she appreciated us and the good times we had. Even after she grew up and married when she would see us she would give us a big smile and sometimes a big hug. She was a great Christian lady. We are going to miss that big smile and hug from her but we know she is happy where she is. We send sympathy send prayers to all her family and may God bless each one as they go through this loss of Mary Lou.
