Norma Raines passed away Friday, June 26 after a short illness at the age of 94.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Raines (1985), son-in-law Bill, grandson Toby, as well as all four siblings and her parents.
She is survived by two daughters Brenda and Kathy (Lee), four grandsons Chris (Beth), Byron (Deborah), Aaron (Michelle), Ryan (April), granddaughter-in-law Sally, 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Norma worked at Reed’s Furniture, Mitchell-Bissel, and Olin Corporation/Ecusta before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, she especially loved to fly. Some of her favorite pastimes were quilting, crafts, sewing and working in her yard.
She loved spending time with the ones that called her Nanny. They had many great adventures from sports to fishing to great family outings. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A special thank you to the staff and workers of Meals on Wheels which brought a ray of sunshine to her each day. She dearly loved each and everyone of them.
A private family burial was held Tuesday, June 30th at Middle Fork Cemetery, Chester Chappell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make any donations in her name to Meals on Wheels or Middle Fork Cemetery Fund.
