Obituary for Ollie Galloway (Owen)
Brevard - Ollie Galloway, 85, took the hand of her late husband, Eldon, and crossed through Heaven’s gate peacefully Saturday evening, February 25, 2023 while surrounded by some of her family.
A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Arnetta Owen. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters; Elmer, O’neal, Cleo, Olivene and Iona as well as one grandson John.
Ollie was known throughout the community for her passion of ceramics and flowers which she brought to life through her shop, Ollie’s Creations. If Ollie was not spending time with her family or at church, you could always find her in her shop creating her next work of art.
She is survived by her children: Gayleen Tritt (Larry), Rhonda Manley, Gerald Galloway (Denese) and Pamela Barefoot-Reid; four grandchildren: Sabrina Tritt, Jonathan Manley (Stephanie), Michael Galloway (Lisa) and Tyler Barefoot; and three great-granddaughters: Savannah, Chloe and Bristol Manley. She is also survived by her sister, Arizona Fields and her brother, Clifton Owen.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at 1:00p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 (Ollie’s Birthday), at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 12:00pm.
