Obituary for Patricia Ann Hughey (Dill)
Brevard - Patricia Dill Hughey (Patty) age 67, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 with her loving husband and cherished daughter by her side.
Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Arrington Tabor, father, John (Chubb) Dill, stepfather, Jack Tabor, and nephew, Chris Hooper.
Patty was born in Hendersonville on June 6, 1954, and graduated from Brevard High School in 1973. She was a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College’s cosmetology program and a member of their student government association. She owned and operated a hair salon for several years and spent several years working for Walmart, TCBY and Nypro/J-bill. She was an active member of Little River Baptist Church for many years before moving to Henderson County in the early 90’s. She and Larry lived in Hendersonville, Weaverville and came back to Transylvania County. Patty was a beautiful, strong, loving Christian woman who will be dearly missed by her family.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Larry Hughey, daughter Cortney Hughey-Yetter and Cortney’s wife, Erinn, son, Jason Hughey (Lisa), stepdaughter, Quincy Calaway, sister, Brenda D. Hooper Walden, (Jerry), brother, Steven Tabor (Dana) and sister, Jennifer Sprouse, grandchildren, Elliott, Blake, Mackenzie, Corbin, Caleb, Maggie, Joshua, Mitchel and Hunter, two nieces, : Carly and Kimberly, two special little twin girls and her adored pets, Binky, Bear and Mack.
A celebration of Patty and her life will be held 1pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church on Osborne Road in Brevard.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Larry Hughey kidney transplant fund, at 1195 See Off Mountain Road in Brevard, or an animal rescue charity.
