Obituary for Paul Richard Pierson
Paul Richard Pierson, 73 of Brevard went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2019.
He was born on August 2, 1945 to the late Charlie and Beulah Pierson. He was proceeded in death by one sister, Irene Hughey and two nephews, Thomas Green and Lamar Green.
He was a loving son, brother and uncle. At the age of 7 he had a traumatic brain injury, but this did not stop him from devoting his whole life to the service of others. After his father died, when Paul was just 15 years old, he stepped up and took on the role of caregiver to his mother and 3 younger siblings. He started working odd jobs until he was able to get a full-time job as a custodian at Brevard College where he worked for over 40 years. After he retired he stilled worked hard helping with the manna food program at Community Baptist Church. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. He had a fun loving spirit and loved to make people laugh. He became a friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include one sister, Judy Hubbard and husband Steve, one brother, Charles Pierson and wife Gail, one nephew, Brian Morgan and fiancé Erika, four nieces, Amanda Jackson, Rebecca Pierson, Sabrina Deal and husband Joey and Jana Pierson and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday March 9, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Mission Church on Cemetery Rd in Pisgah Forest with the Revs. Shane Greene and Paul Raines officiating. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm prior to the service.
