Obituary for Phillip Jackson Long

Phillip Jackson Long, 50, of Cruso, North Carolina went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 14, 2022 after a short battle with cancer.
Phillip was born on November 1, 1971 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Henry Jackson Long and Carolyn Miller Long. He lived in Western North Carolina his entire life. After graduating from Brevard High School in 1990, he briefly attended Blue Ridge Community College and then began a career in carpentry work. Phillip was a lover of the outdoors and liked to hike, camp, fish and spend time at the beach. In earlier years, he liked to fly two-line stunt kites and was very talented at that hobby. He also loved animals and spending time with his step-grandchildren. He lived a quiet life and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.
In addition to his parents, Phillip is survived by his partner, Lisa Horner; step-children, Tabitha and Carisa; step-grandchildren, Nick, Alyssa, Ava, and Abigail, sister, Vicki Whilden.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church.
