Obituary for Rev. Robert Glen Owen
Rev. Robert Glen Owen, age 77, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018.
A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Glen Owen. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Owen and two sisters, Lola Mae Banther and Shirley Cison.
Robert was the pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest for 35 years. He served his country in the U S Army. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #267 in Brevard and also a member of the Shriners Club.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patricia Holden Owen, mother, Lois Cassell Owen of Brevard, sons, Kevin and Charlie Owen of Brevard, brothers, Wayne Owen and wife Judy, James Owen and wife Becky, Bobby Owen and wife Diane, Steve Owen, Carlos Owen and wife Kim all of Brevard, sisters, Mary Ellen Parker of Brevard and Christine Sprouse and husband Ray of Myrtle Beach, SC and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
Funeral services will be held 3pm, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Dunns Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
