Obituary for Richard Allen Holden
Brevard - Richard Allen Holden, Sr., 79, went to his Heavenly Home to be with his Heavenly Father January 10, 2023.
A native of Transylvania County, he was the youngest of 10 children of the late Frank Edmond Holden and Bertha Mason Holden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Carroll, Douglas and Donald Lee Holden and three sisters, Lois Galloway, Dorothy Moore and Ruth Bryson.
A graduate of Brevard High School, he retired from Bi-Lo grocery.
Loving survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Brenda Curlee Holden, two sons, Richard Allen Holden, Jr. (Leslie), Brandon Lance (Karen), grandchildren Kayla Daves (Clay), Kamden Lance (Karaline Griffin), Brittany Holden, Ty Holden, Mae Holden, Chace Ross, Chase Owen (Amber), Chad Owen (Courtney) great grandchildren, Lydia Owen, Colton Owen, Zoey Owen and Oliver Owen. 2 brothers, Kenneth (Buster) and Jerry (Eula), special sister-in-law, Doris Selvage, special niece and nephew, Cindy and Jurell Hand, very special nephew, Gary Galloway and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12noon, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Brevard Church of God, 91 McLean Rd, Brevard. The family will receive friends. Visitation will be from 11-12 with the service following at 12.
The family would like to thank Josh Whitmire, Sherry Robinson, the staff at Care Partners and Kayla Reese with Care Partners (Hospice).
