Rickey Ray Galloway, age 65 of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 30, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Richmond, VA after an extended illness.
Rickey was preceded in death by his father, R. G. “Cotton” Galloway and brother-in-law, Gene Schultz.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Galloway; two sisters, Nora Dean and husband Donnie, and Brenda Schultz; one daughter, Lisa Galloway and husband Matt; one granddaughter, Destynee; one niece, Kelly; one nephew, Matt; one great-nephew, Dylan.
Rickey served in the military and was injured while on active duty.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 in the Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations Chapel with the Rev. Mike Pressley officiating. His aunt, Dr. Shelby Galloway, will deliver the eulogy. Pallbearers will be D. H. Galloway, Kimmey Galloway, Matt Galloway, Dylan Davis and Justin Olivera. Helen Hogsed and daughter Selena will perform the following music: “I Can Only Imagine”, “Winner Either Way” and “No Grave’s Gonna Hold This Body Down”.
Interment will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, October 5, 2018 at Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
