Obituary for Robert Lee "Bob" Reid
Robert “Bob” Lee Reid, 91, of Brevard, NC, passed away on April 14, 2023.
Bob was born on November 21, 1931, in Brevard, NC. After Bob graduated from Brevard High School, he served in the Marine Corps.
He then went on to attend Brevard College and Florida State University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1982, Bob married Dorothy Crais. He retired after 30 years with Mitchell Bissell in 2010.
In his young adulthood, Bob was an accomplished clogger with the Echo Inn Cloggers. He toured with the Grand Ole Opry and appeared multiple times on The Jimmy Dean Show.
Bob was predeceased by his sisters Georgia Ann Reid Fowler and Patsy Reid Case, and brothers Albert Earl Reid and Spencer Weldon Reid. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Crais Reid, brother Hilton “Chuck” Hayes Reid, daughter Heidi Joanen Barron, Heidi’s husband Tim Barron, and Bob’s three grandchildren Rachel, Nathan, and Sarah.
At Bob’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, Bob asked that his friends and family donate to Four Seasons Hospice.
