Obituary for Royce Robert Baker
Brevard – Royce Robert Baker, age 85, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
He was the son of the late Elmer and Florence Holden Baker. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Davis “Red” Baker and one niece, Cindy Stephenson.
Royce was employed by Ecusta for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very young at heart. Above all, he loved his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Baker and wife Deana of Lake Toxaway and Andy Baker and wife Hattie of Brevard, three daughters, Debbie Baker of Brevard, Glenda Owen and husband Gary of Brevard and Sheila Baker of Brevard, one brother, Raymond Baker and wife Barbara of Brevard, one sister, Louise Blythe of Arden, five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, special friends, Frank and Ruth Brown and a special companion, “Precious”.
The Baker family would like to say Thank You to all the staff of Accordius Health Care in Brevard for all their loving care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Pete Lee officiating. The family will receive friends 6pm – 8pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
