Obituary for Scott Allen Wolf

Scott Allen Wolf

On Tuesday evening, God sent an angel down to bring Scott home. He is now with Jesus in his resurrected body. Scott was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 24, 1965 and left this earth on March 29, 2022.

He grew up in South Florida and then moved to Austin, Texas where he graduated from the Clifton Center. In 2002 he moved with his father and mother to Brevard, North Carolina, where he became very active in Special Olympics of Transylvania County, participating in many local and state events. Scott also participated in Special Olympics in New York, Florida and Texas. He loved getting the gold! Scott also loved his music and movies; his home library of CDs and DVDs and even VCRs filled every wall space of his apartment. He was a faithful volunteer at SAFE Attic and Bread of Life.

His greatest joy was worshipping our Lord, especially at the 9:00 Praise Service at First United Methodist, Brevard, and attending the Special Friends Sunday School class led by Judy and Dick Hargett. Scott was a gentle soul, loved by all.

Scott is survived by his loving parents Frank and Marian of Brevard; his sister Debbie Wolf of Delray Beach, Florida; his brothers Britt Bankson (Wendy) of San Diego, California; Drew Bankson (Laura) of McKinney, Texas; Jeff Bankson (Jill) of Stamford, Connecticut and Brian Bankson (Lisa) of Stamford, Connecticut; and his nephews Adam Bankson (Suzie Oh), Noah and George Hensley and his nieces Samantha Wright (Garrett), Sarah Bankson, Reese Bankson, Luika Gibson (Sam) and Mallory Salem (Rob); and his cousin Amy Ramshaw (Scott). He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna Wolf and brother Mark Wolf.

A very special thanks to his devoted trainers/caregivers: Leigh Gray, Lynne Poe, and Marcus Lester. They were very instrumental in helping Scott succeed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Special Olympics of Transylvania County (SOTC), c/o Lauren Bruce, P.O. Box 10063, Greensboro, NC 27404.

A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 325 N. Broad, Brevard, in the Fellowship Hall with the Praise Band. Please come help us celebrate Scott (dress casual)!
