Obituary for Stephen Anthony Pacitti

Stephen (Steve) Anthony Pacitti of Parrish, FL went to be with our Lord on July 27th, 2019. Heart complications were the cause of his sudden and unexpected passing. He was by the side of his wife and best friend Kathy Pacitti, to whom he was married for 48 wonderful years.

Steve was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on July 19th, 1949. A “Philly Boy” raised in Upper Darby by his parents James Pacitti Sr. and Mary Walters Pacitti. Steve attended Monsignor Bonner High School and Drexel University, graduating with a degree in business. He married the love of his life Kathy Bones in 1971 and soon thereafter their family grew with the birth of two children, Melissa and Gregg. The family moved to Seminole, FL in 1978 where Steve began his career in trucking and freight transportation, an industry which he would come to know well. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to build and own multiple businesses over his life, including his recent freight brokerage business, which successfully continues in operation.

As his eldest granddaughter Katherine recently posted “Anyone who knew my Poppa knew he had the biggest heart and the kindest soul, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he loved. He was truly one of a kind.”
Steve was a quiet man who adored his family, enjoyed a wide circle of friends and loved being on the links with his golfing buddies. He sang in a local Doo Wop group, danced to the oldies and possessed the rare talent of being a great listener.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Kathy; children Melissa Groth (Stephen); son Gregg (Anna); brother Jim (Dot); sister Barbara Hetherington (Jim) and grandchildren Katherine Grace; Luke; Jake; Gavin and Zack; sisters-in-law Diane Bones (Dave Kehl) and Marie Bones Moffatt (Frank). He was a special uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in honor of Steve is scheduled for Saturday September 21, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels church in Lakewood Ranch, FL. A luncheon will follow at River Wilderness Club in Parrish, Fl. All who loved our wonderful Steve are invited to attend and share in a tribute to him.
