Obituary for Wilda Wood Stewart
Brevard - Wilda W. Stewart, age 80, went to meet her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 14, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sally Wood of Glenville, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased in death by three sisters, Edna Moody, Wilma Coggins and Edith Snipes.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Gene Stewart, one son, James Stewart and his wife, Jaclyn, three grandchildren, Andrew Stewart (Chelsea), Brittney Harding (D’Artagnan) and Jami Stewart, four Great-grandchildren, Oriah Stewart, Tucker Corn, Aubree Stewart and Dean Harding.
Wilda worked at Coats America for many years and also at Brevard High School Cafeteria. Wilda and Gene volunteered for many years at Koala and The Brian Center, where they sang gospel music to the residents. She was an avid member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she sang and taught Sunday School for many years. All that knew her knew that her joy came from her precious grandchildren and her Lord and Savior. Wilda spent a lifetime preparing for her journey to Heaven and by the Grace of God, she took it.
There will be a small celebration of life 5:30pm – 6:30pm, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Patrick and Pastor Ed Snipes officiating.
