Acie Carl Waldrop Brevard – Acie Carl Waldrop, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late William Mays Waldrop and Allie Whitmire Waldrop. Mr. Waldrop was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during WW II and Korea. He was a member of Dunn's Rock Masonic Lodge #267 and he was a 3rd degree Master Mason, was a life member of the VFW, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Bryson Waldrop; son, Tim Waldrop and wife Kim of Brevard; grandchildren, Scott Waldrop, Misty Waldrop Sheppard and husband Robert all of Brevard, Lauren Waldrop of Florida, and Joshua Allen of Brevard; sister, Edna Holden of Brevard; brother, Joe Waldrop and wife Shirley of Marion, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County.
