Obituary

Alberta Galloway, 70, of Brevard North Carolina was given a wonderful much needed and restful homecoming on March 2, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. This celebration was given to her from the Lord and was attended by her precious Mama and Daddy and her grandson, sister, and brothers. She was a native of Jackson County and moved to Transylvania at a young age. She was a devoted daughter to her parents all her life and a homemaker who loved to work around her home. She took great pride in making their home beautiful. Her hobbies were too numerous to list all but a few were gardening in her flower beds, decorating with a flair that was envied, but mostly taking care of those she loved. She had a personality that was nurturing and that made people feel at ease and you just wanted to talk to her and be around her. She had suffered from her illnesses and was robbed of so much far too young of all the things she loved to do. But she is whole again and where she had been asking to go for a long time, she is now home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merritt and Elva Owen Galloway, her grandson Ryan Franks, her siblings Edith Shook, Donnel Galloway, Leel Galloway, Kermit Galloway, and also a very adored father-in-law J.C. Galloway. She is survived by her wonderfully devoted husband of 54 years, Roy Galloway. Her children and spouses Ronnie and companion Jeanie Hoxit, Vickie and husband Joey Franks, Kelley and wife Maxine Galloway, Laurie and husband Keith Mullenax. Her grandchildren Josh and wife Meredith Galloway, Derek Galloway, Kristi Hoxit, Keri and husband Jason Wilson, Kate Hoxit, Kyle Mullenax, Dustin Mullenax, Brody Mullenax, Mason Galloway. Her great grandchildren Whitley, Maggi, Dalton, Bryce, and Drew Galloway. Her sister Darlene Mullins and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Also she was close and adored her in-laws Elizabeth Galloway, Shirley and Charles Petit, Sandra and Bill Schmidt, Keith and Carolyn Galloway, Lynn and Karen Galloway. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Transylvania County.
