Mcfadden
March 23, 1948 – March 6, 2024
Pisgah Forest - Alison Towle Davis McFadden, 75, embarked on her next great adventure surrounded by her cherished family on March 6, 2024. She peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a tapestry of love and laughter that will forever be woven into the hearts of those who knew her.
Born to Mary and Frank Davis in Gary, IN, Alison's journey was one adorned with love and warmth. Reunited now with her mother, father, and sister Christine Flynn, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
Alison's heart belonged to her husband of nearly 42 years, the charming Bruce McFadden. They created a vibrant family, embracing Alison's beloved son Jason Wright (Jenny), bonus daughters Jennifer Barnwell (Ray, her favorite son-in-law) and Bonnie Ford Crosswy (Gabe). Alison's joy extended to eight grandchildren; Adam Krentz (Sam), Jack and Cannon Ford, Hannah Johnson (Rick), Ashlyn Watson (John), the enchanting duo Emme and Austin in addition to great grandchildren, Charleigh and Maddox Johnson. Alison embraced Bruce's family as her own including sisters-in-law, Laurie Delia (Nick) and Peg Welles (Rob). Alison's sister-in-law Jan Page was her best friend, closest confidant and sister by choice. Their relationship cultivated Alison's love for Jan's daughters, Debbie Giese, and Tracy Lemmer. Her adoration for her nephew Dan Flynn and great-nephew Alex was pure love.
Alison's professional journey led her through bustling streets of Chicago, IL, and eventually to Birmingham, AL, with Bruce, where she enjoyed a career in marketing within the banking world. She loved supporting AHMEN through the education of disadvantaged girls in Honduras for over 20 years.
Lest we forget Alison's mischievous side, revealed in her love for games and competition. With a twinkle in her eye, a fierce competitive spirit, she reigned supreme in Scrabble, Gin-Rummy, Yahtzee—you name it! No opponent was spared her cunning wit and strategic prowess.
Alison's exhibited delight for football season via team outfits and her unwavering loyalty to any school connected to her family. Alison proudly sported her team by changing outfits with each game, with the enthusiasm of a true fan, shaker in hand!
Music was a cornerstone for Alison, cultivated during her upbringing with church hymns and classical melodies. She embraced timeless tunes of classical, pop, and soft rock with equal fervor.
Let's not forget her furry companions—Grover, Barney, Murphy, and Toby—who undoubtedly greeted her with wagging tails and boundless joy.
Alison's friendship was a treasure trove of laughter, love, and impeccable grammar. Her quick wit, infectious humor, and meme-sharing antics brought joy to all, whether you called her Sweetheart, Mom, Alison, AL, AO, Grandma Alison, or GG.
Though she may have bid farewell, Alison's spirit lives on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to call her friend, family, or Scrabble opponent. May her memory continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same zest and enthusiasm she exuded daily.
