Alma Elizabeth Chappell Lowe, 94, wife of the late Luna Lowe, went to be with her Lord Friday, June 11, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was born March 13, 1916 to the late Radford and Dora Fisher Chappell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Wahle Brown, and two sons, Harrison Lowe, and Joe Lowe and his wife Jeanette. Surviving are her four children, Jack and wife Betty of Spartanburg, SC, James and wife Evelyn of Rosman, Don and friend Carolyn Beard of Pacolet, SC, and Joyce and the Rev. Leon Brown of Rutherfordton; two special daughters-in-law, Helen Gunnels and Bobbie Bitner of SC; special son-in-law, Bill Wahle of Arlington, TX; special friend, Edith Alley of Rutherfordton; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 13, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Leon Brown and Tony Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Quebec. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund.
