Alton Elvis "Tenner" Pangle, 84, proud veteran of the United States Army, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away Saturday May 27, 2017 at The Elizabeth House in Hendersonville. Alton was a Deacon at Zion Church in Rosman, he retired from Dupont after 33 years, an avid NASCAR fan and animal lover. Mr. Pangle was born in Transylvania County, February 11, 1933 to the late Bessie Pangle. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Morgan Pangle, one son, Donald Alton Pangle Sr. and wife Martha, one daughter Margaret Pangle Fore and her friend Stanley. One brother Carlos Pangle and one sister Dorris Rogers, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild who all loved their "Pa". A graveside service will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Donald (Donny) Pangle Jr. and Rev. Wally McCall.
