Anna Katherine Lutz Cockerham, 97, died May 19, 2024, in Brevard, NC. She was born on June 14, 1926, to Roy and Anna Lutz. She was a cherished mother, wife, daughter, and sister.

Mrs. Cockerham, a native of Jefferson County, MS, was a resident of Vicksburg, MS from 1950 until 2021, when she moved to the mountains of North Carolina to be near her son. She and her late husband, Lewyl, were of the Baptist faith and long-time active members and leaders of Bowmar Baptist Church. She retired from the US Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station.

She lived a very full and rewarding life, a life of honesty and humility. Every day was guided by her faith, her beliefs, and her principles. She was a sweet southern lady who profoundly touched so many lives with her generous spirit. Her smile and sense of humor lit up many a room.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewyl Cockerham, her parents, Roy and Anna Harrington Lutz, and her brother, Tommy Lutz.

She is survived by her son, L. Glenn Cockerham (Roberta Carver) of Brevard, NC, granddaughter, Anna Claire Mollet of Bluffton, SC, brother, Bradley Lutz (Sharon) of Vicksburg, MS, and great-grandchildren Jenna Mollet and Hayden Mollet.

Services will be 11 am, Friday, June 14 at Glenwood Funeral Home, Vicksburg, MS with Reverend Paul Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am until the time of services.
