April Diane Collins Joyce (69) of Hendersonville, NC went home to be with the Lord on June
30th, 2026. 

She was born to George Collins Sr. and Joan Lakin Collins on April 12th, 1957. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she loved making outings to the beach. After marrying the love of her life, Michael Joyce Sr., they moved to several different states, but finally settled in Hendersonville where she came to call home for almost thirty-seven years. It was here inHendersonville where April lived next to her daughter Meghan, her son-in-law Judson Pierson,and her six grandchildren. She spent many years spoiling her grandchildren, taking care of their splinters, and judging “stinky-feet” contests. She was known for loving her pets, her family, and most importantly her God. She was a member of Crab Creek Baptist Church where she faithfully attended with her family.

April is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother. April was “Dew” to her husband, Mike, “Mom” to her daughter, Meghan Pierson (Judson) and her son, Michael Robert Joyce Jr.,and “Nana” to her six loving grandchildren, Graham (Mabry), Collin (Hannah), Jamin (Jesse),Sawyer, Spencer (Kinlee), and Lillian (James). In addition to these family members, she also leaves behind a brother and sister, and three great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

There was a private burial held for the family on July 3rd, 2026 and a Celebration of Life service to follow on August 15th, 2026 at 11am. The service will be held at her home church of Crab Creek Baptist.
