Obituary

Arnold B. Carter (A.B.) 86 of Powhatan, Virgina and Brevard, N. C. passed away on April 21, 2015. He was the son of his deceased parents Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Carter from Brevard. He was married to the late Clara Lou Hooper. Mr. Carter has three children, Alan Carter of San Clemente, CA and his children, Kaia and Kaleb, Dwayne Carter, of Pompono Beach, FL, and one daughter Janet Lee of Powhatan, VA and her daughters, Kady and Shannon. Mr. Carter had 7 sisters and 1 brother; Ada Eades of Seneca, S.C., Leona Owen and Beth Greenwood both of, Brevard, NC, Georgia Holden of Prospect, KY, Linda Carter of Clearwater, Florida, Gladys Tracy of Dekalb, MO, Joann Terry of Murrieta, CA and Gerald (Jerry) Carter of Lexington, SC. Mr. Carter attended Rosman High School, Rosman, N.C. and was a graduate of Clemson University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Dunn's Rock Masonic Lodge. He loved the Blue Ridge Mountains and after his retirement from Aetna Insurance Company he spent time between his home in Virginia and his childhood home in Brevard. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard on Friday evening, April 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. with funeral service on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. Online condolences may be left at www.moodyconnollyfuneralhome.com. Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
