Arthur Hudson Bishop, age 84, of Brevard, NC, went on to meet the Lord November 11, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family as he "Finished the good race". (2 Timothy 4:7)

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jennie Siniard Bishop; three sons, Boyce Milliard Bishop of Graham, NC, Arthur Hudson Bishop II of Fairview, NC, Joseph Alvin Bishop of Brevard, NC; his daughter, Tammy Michelle Patrum of Elon, NC; two sisters, Mary Bishop and Jane Elliot; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Arthur was born on November 9, 1937, in Cedar Mountain, NC to the late Boyce and Helen Bishop. He graduated from Fruitland Bible College in 1975 and served as a Southern Baptist minister in churches in Galax and Bedford, VA, and also in Mebane and Brevard, NC.

He was called to serve the Lord shortly after being born again, after the loss of his daughter Sarah Lynn Bishop December 19, 1965. Arthur was a down to earth pastor and was known for his humor and humility. He was affectionately known as "preacher man" and led many to the Lord.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 pm. Due to limited parking Sacred Heart Catholic Church has allowed us to use the back portion of their parking lot next to the cemetery but has asked everyone leave by 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask you make a love offering to your local church.
