Obituary

Austin Trent Mullett of Pisgah Forest, NC, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 31, 2010 after a sudden viral infection. He was born December 9, 1993 to Duane and Cindy Mullett. His life was a miraculous demonstration of the great God that he served. After surviving a heart transplant at 8 months old, God also spared his life after two encounters with very aggressive forms of cancer (Burkitt's Lymphoma at age 5 and Squamous Cell Carcinoma at age 6). On January 13, 2010, Austin also received his second heart transplant. He traveled with his family in a singing, evangelistic out-reach as a part of Gospel Express Ministries. Austin was known for his optimistic outlook on life in spite of the overwhelming physical challenges he faced. One of his greatest joys was when he was able to help people solve computer or electrical problems. Austin accepted Jesus as his savior when he was 6 years old. His confidence in the sovereignty of God gave him the foundation to be a young man of unwavering faith. Austin leaves behind his parents, Duane and Cindy Mullett, along with his four sisters, Brianna Nicole (14), Alisha Danae (12), Chantara Faith (2), and Kyra Shianne (5 months). He will be missed by his grandparents, Henry and Ada Coblentz, and John and Merlyn Mullett all of Etowah, NC, and also by his 14 aunts and uncles and 24 cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Miriam Coblentz, and uncle, Darryl Mullett. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for all of the prayers and support that so many have shown. They love your continued prayers as they, with God's help, adjust to their deep loss. Their greatest comfort is knowing that very soon their family will be complete in Heaven. Funeral services will be held Friday November 5, 2010 at 10:00am at Mud Creek Baptist Church, Hendersonville, NC. Interment will follow at the United Covenant Mennonite Church Cemetery in Etowah NC. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Anchor Baptist and Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm also at Anchor Baptist Church.
