Austin Sanford Raines Brevard – Austin Sanford Raines, 81, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late James Kirby Raines and Gertrude Eubanks Raines and was the husband of the late Anna Lee Holden Raines. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lula Raines Huggins and Zola Raines, and a grandson, Joshua Austin Raines. Surviving are his sons, Jerry Raines and wife Mae, Randall Raines, and Gary Raines and wife Lynne all of Brevard; brothers, Cleveland Oliver Raines of Hendersonville, and Foster Raines of Brevard; grandson, Jimmy Raines. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Jones and Bobby Howard officiating. Burial will be in Holden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
