Hendersonville - Barbara passed peacefully at Tore's home in Flat Rock after a short decline being cared for diligently by the staff at Tore's home and Four Seasons Hospice.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Jules and Edith Chappell. Her Husband Carrol Merrill.  Her brother Tom Chappell, nieces Teresa Frady and Jeanne Tome and a step son, Gary Merrill. She leaves behind a brother, Ulysses Chappell of Brevard and a close Sister in law, Mary Chappell of York Pa, and several nieces and nephews spread out over the US and a step daughter.

Barbara attended the Tamassee DAR school in Salem SC.  She worked several years for Millers Dry Cleaning then moved on to DuPont where she retired. She was a cattle farmer and was active with NC farm bureau and the cattlemen's association as well as Enon Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Enon Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
