Barbara Ann Monteith, 77, of Pisgah Forest passed peacefully into her eternal home on August 8th 2026.

Barbara was born February 4th 1949 in Hendersonville North Carolina. Barbara was part of the graduating class of 1967 from East Hendersonville High School. After graduation, Barbara started her career as a Certified Nurse Aide which fulfilled her dreams of taking care of others. Her love for taking care of others showed not only in her career but also in her family life as she was known to be the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma. Lovingly known to her family as Ma, she enjoyed spending her days on the family farm, relaxing on her front porch and spending time with her wonderful family.

Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Allie Mae Stepp, father Dewitt Stepp, lifelong friend Viva Lee, and her loving husband Gary Monteith.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Sandra Huggins of Hendersonville.

In addition to her sister, Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Becky Monteith Fulp and Christy Monteith Crane both of Pisgah Forest.

Barbara is also survived by grandchildren, Justin and Maddie Fulp, Kaylee Fulp (Isaac Wiggins) and Jacob Fulp (Jade). Great grandchildren, Jaxon Fulp, Juliette Fulp, Lillian Wiggins, Raelyn Wiggins, and Aiden Wiggins. Nephews, Justin and Shane, as well as 3 great nieces. Many more family and friends survive.

The family would like to thank Tore Borhaug and his staff at Tore’s Home for the compassionate and quality care provided for Barbara during her time there.

We love you and thank you for all our time together. We will cherish our memories forever, until we meet again Ma!
