Barbara Oliver Waters entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ April 3rd, 2016 at the age of 74. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Oliver and Thelma Pate Oliver. She had an incredible joy for children, gardening and flowers, and spent much time reading and studying her Bible. She had many God given talents and endeavored to use them to glorify God. A 1959 graduate of Brevard High School, she was an accomplished singer, artist, floral designer and author. She welcomed foster children into her home for many years and adopted 4 children. She enjoyed being co-owner of Waters Florist and Ribbons & Roses in Brevard. Highlights include her being chosen 1 out of 7 floral designers in the United States to design for Caffeco International. For the past 45 years, alongside her husband, she continued her art of design for Transylvania Wholesale Floral. Even through her chronic illnesses, she touched many lives. She taught us all so many life lessons about loving deeply and giving greatly to those in need. Her creativity will forever live on and her passion to share with others, be it a beautiful floral design or her angelic singing voice. You may read this and recall a handmade card or note that touched your heart. She was a loving, devoted wife to her surviving husband of 56 years, Ed Waters. She was also a wonderful mother to her four daughters, Dawn and husband Joe Treadway of Asheville, NC, Darla and husband Stanley Owen of Brevard, Daneila Owen of Columbus, NC and Linda Waters of Brevard, three sons, Robert Waters and wife Christy of Hamilton, Ohio, Lee Waters of Columbus Ohio, and Henry Waters of Columbus, Ohio. She was blessed in life to be a precious grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Meme. She cherished the time spent with her family. Also survived by one brother, Peyton Oliver of Brevard and one sister, Doris Pressley of Brevard. Long live the beauty of her life that reached and touched us all.
