Brevard – Barbara Weathers Wood, 76, went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2016. She was the daughter of the late James and Dallas Hammett Weathers. Barbara was a member of Open Arms Tabernacle for more than 50 years. She adored her family. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, dedicated grandmother and a fantastic mother in law. Survivors include the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Wood; daughters, Sheila Hunter and husband Richard of Horseshoe and Angela Whitmire and husband Art of Brevard; grandchildren, Wesley and Caleb and great grandchildren, Braylin and Lily. Funeral services will be held 1pm, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Open Arms Tabernacle with the Revs. Don Johnson, Jack Drake and Wesley Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
