Brevard – Beatrice Batson Barton, 94, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Nathan and Rosa Kilpatrick Batson. She was preceded in death by her husband; Fred Garfield Barton, sons; Daniel and Benny Barton, daughter; Rita Taylor, brothers; Arnold and J. B. Batson and sister; Lola Mae Potter. Mrs. Barton was a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sons; Douglas Barton and wife Betty of Brevard and Kenneth Barton and wife Colita of Brevard, daughters; Barbara Harper and husband Henry of Rock Hill, SC, Helen Hoxit and husband Stanley of Brevard and Linda Fisher of Brevard, sister; Lowee McCall of Rosman, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a special companion, "Lola Bird" her yellow naped parrot. A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
