Belle Townsend Carter, age 95, of Pisgah Forest passed away at the Oaks of Brevard January 28, 2010.She was born January 1, 1915 in Transylvania County to the late Wiley Layfayette Townsend and Floy Gertrude Orr Townsend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Valry D. Carter and her sister Mrs. Nettie Lawler. Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Rhuemma "Rhue" Miller of Pisgah Forest, one brother; Lewis M. Townsend and his wife Virginia of Charlotte, one grand daughter Mrs. Kristina Miller Suddeth and her husband Chris of Fripp Island S.C. one great granddaughter Emma Belle Suddeth also of Fripp Island S.C. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00pm February 2, 2010 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel Conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
