Lake Toxaway - Dovie Berdell Jones Phillips Born 9/10/1933 passed peacefully on February 5, 2023.

She was the daughter of Mary and Ben Jones of Lake Toxaway. She was preceded in death by her husband Slim Phillips, son Robin Phillips, sisters Jean Jones and Patricia Jones, also by her brothers Brodus Jones, Bert Jones, and Charlie Jones.

Together Berdell and Slim Phillips had four children sons Larry Phillips, Robin Phillips (deceased), Trent Phillips and daughter Tena Grant.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Burrell and brothers, Stanley Jones and Brandon Jones, three children, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a very special friend, Yanna Gosnell.

She worked at MB Industries for more than 30 years, where she made many wonderful friends. She loved to cook, garden, put up canned foods, quilt and sew. Nothing meant more to her than family and friends sitting at her table enjoying the food and each other. She was always the last to eat. That was our Mom.

Visitation will be 5pm-7pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Moody Connolly Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held 11am, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Rock Bridge Cemetery.
