Berlin Churchill (Beardy) Owen, age 77, of Rosman went to be with the Lord on Thursday March, 18 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Rosman NC. He attended Zion Baptist Church in Rosman. Mr. Owen retired from the Ecusta Corporation and was a lifelong member of the Rosman Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his parents Verlon and Lucy Owen, brother Lawrance Coggins, and sisters Gertrude Russell, Velma Southern and Verlene Waters. Mr. Owen is survived by his wife Melba Owen; sons, Eric Owen and wife Tracy, and Jamie Owen; brother Berlis Owen; sisters Opal Lee Kamora and Ollie Mae Wood; grandchildren, Nathaniel Owen "big un" and Amanda Owen "little un"; his beloved Great Granddaughter Lillianah Owen; several nieces and nephews. The family will have a private burial at a later date but will be having a Memorial Service Sunday March 28, 2021 at 4:00pm at the Rosman Town Hall outdoor facilities. Everyone is invited to attend and dress is informal. The family is asking if anyone has pictures of Berlin will they please make a copy of the photo and bring it to the service and there will be a table to display the pictures on.
