Brevard, NC
Bert Hardwick, exceptionally beloved husband, father, caring uncle, friend and volunteer very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away Monday morning June 15th, 2026.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathy, his seven children, Krista, Matthew, Moriah, Rosa, Bethany, Lillie, and Jordan, and his three grandchildren, Samantha, Mikayla, and Saya, sisters, Dot, Kathy and Betty and many nieces and nephews
He was loved by all who knew him. He loved his cats, nature, forests and gardens, helping people whenever, wherever he could He was a truly good man who will be sorely missed. Born in the mountains of Massachusetts, he made his way down to the warmer mountains of North Carolina where he worked for many years in H/VAC for Anderson Heating and in maintenance at College walk along with volunteering at the cradle of forestry. After retiring he had the time of his life volunteering at the lake lure flowering garden. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being an active part of Buncombe County Bee Association, watching golf, playing sudoku in his favorite recliner and experiencing the mountains with all the local treasures the area has to offer.
