Bessie Ashe Owens Brevard – Bessie Ashe Owens, 95, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Oaks of Brevard. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late W. A. and Samantha Owen McCall. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Flem Ashe and Julius Owens, and her children, Rev. John Ashe and Laura Jean Allison. Mrs. Owens was a charter member of the Brevard Church of God. She was a strong Christian lady and she loved people. We will miss her smiling face. Surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Steve Boley officiating. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at the Oaks of Brevard for the love and care they gave Mrs. Owens for the last 13 years.
