Betty Meece Holcombe of Fort Hill, SC, Age 74, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. She was born January 7, 1935 to the late Wiley and Belau Rice Meece. She was a graduate of Brevard High School and worked as a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, James "Pete" Holcombe and one daughter Susan Holcombe Cook. She is survived by her sons Bo Holcombe and wife Beverly of Lancaster, SC and Bob Holcombe and wife Lyn of Pickens, SC. One daughter, Mrs. Debbie Wood and husband David of Jacksonville, NC and one sister Dr. Pat Davis and husband Dr. Don Davis from State College, Penn. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Old Toxaway Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tony Lambert. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1:30-2:30 PM prior to the funeral service at the church.
