Betty Jean Morgan (Galloway)

Betty Jean Morgan, age 92, formerly of Brevard NC, passed away peacefully on Feb 1st, 2025. She was born June 10th, 1932, to the late Fleet Galloway and Cora Sentelle Galloway.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnson (Johnny) Morgan, granddaughter, Tia Olson, and two sisters, Julia Galloway Hawkins of Milton Fl and Margaret Galloway Howard of Brevard NC.

Betty is survived by her daughter Sherri Morgan Crowe (husband Myron) of Denver NC; son Rocky Morgan of North Myrtle Beach SC; sister, Martha Galloway Boyd of San Antonio TX; grandson, Jason Morgan (wife Lexie) and three great grandchildren, Averie, McKenzie and Kade of Madison AL.

Betty loved doing genealogy and was an avid member of the Transylvania Genealogy Society.

Betty taught herself to do Toll Painting on wooden plank cutouts and two-dimensional wooden pieces which were made as replicas of local historical homes. It was a pastime she loved doing with her husband. He cut them out and she painted them.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Betty retired from being a clothing inspector for Ruth Originals.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, Feb 5th, 2025, at 2pm at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, NC.
