Case
June 29, 1933 – December 30, 2022
William "Bill" Case, 89, of Hendersonville went to his heavenly home on Friday, December 30th. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Bill was born on June 29, 1933 in Lake Toxaway, NC. Bill was the son of the late Louise and LC Case. He attended Rosman High School where he ran track and played basketball. He married his high school sweetheart, Freda Boley Case in 1954. Shortly after he started attending Berea College, he was drafted into the military and served in Germany post Korean War. He later returned to Berea College and received a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, followed by his Master's Degree in Animal Husbandry from Clemson University. Bill retired from USDA, Farmer's Home Administration and then worked at Brevard Federal Savings and Loan.
The joy of Bill's life were his children, grandchildren, and friends whom he loved humbly, steadily, and tenderly. He was a lover of life, and he lived it to the fullest. Cookouts, camping trips, sporting events, playing cards, and gardening were some of his favorite activities to do with his loved ones. Bill and Freda enjoyed traveling in their camper to the western United States and Canada with their dear friends. They later settled into annual trips to Fort Myers, Florida which was their winter home for 25 years. In Florida, Bill played tennis, horseshoes, volleyball, and he would often ride his bike up to 20 miles a day.
Bill faithfully walked with the Lord for the entirety of his life. He was an active member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church serving as a deacon and on various committees. Later in life, he became a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bud Case and his beloved daughter, Debbie Case Allison.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Freda Case; daughter, Sherri Case Pridmore and her husband, Jerry; son-in-law, Norman Allison; four grandchildren, Summer Stipe and her husband Derek, Mitchel Pridmore and his wife Megan, Tarah Starling and her husband Justin, and Casey Allison and his wife Katie; nine great grandchildren, Jude and Gibson Stipe; Myers and Eller Pridmore; Ansley, Addison and Jaxson Starling; and Rawlings and Billy, named in honor of Bill, Allison.
