Blanche Galloway Garrett, 81, of Penrose entered into her heavenly home on Monday August 9, 2021.
She was born on July 1, 1940 in Jackson County to the late Julius Carr and Mary Ann Middleton Galloway. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Caroll and Wallace Galloway.
She is survived by her husband, James "Butch" Garrett; sister Dorothy "Dot" Hendrix (Amos); children Annette Owens, Mitchell Garrett (Kim), Anita Garrett (Vernon), Ricky Garrett (Diana), Regina Jones (Ray); grandchildren Levi Garrett, Renita Gentile, Kaleigh Ragan, Brianna Martin; great grandchildren Jordan and Jamison McPherson and Sydney Jablonski; several nieces and nephews and two special nieces, Peggy and Patty Camp.
Blanche was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She was a loving friend to anyone who knew her. Blanche worked many years for Olin Corp. until health issues brought on early retirement. She loved spending time at the beach, camping in Pigeon Forge, and shopping. However, her favorite moments were times spent with family and friends. She was happiest sitting in her front yard enjoying a cookout with her family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Denise Stretcher for all of her loving care and her support for the family. They would also like to thank Paula Thomson for the care and friendship she provided to Blanche over the last five and a half years.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Thursday August 12th, 2021 beginning at 1pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Blanche Garrett.
