Braun Seavey Hughes, 91, died Friday, April 2, 2010. A native of Etna, PA, he was the son of the late Ira Hughes and Myrtle Braun Hughes and was the husband of the late Grace McMann Hughes who died Dec. 8, 2001. Mr. Hughes was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II, was a retired Financial Manager with Westinghouse Corporation, and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd of Brevard. Surviving are his son, Jim Hughes of Thousand Oaks, CA; daughters, Jan Lumpp and husband Curt of Glenview, IL, Gail Kimzin and husband Jorge of Glendale, AZ, and Sharon Kern and husband John of Salt Lake City, UT; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Richard Handschin officiating. A reception will follow immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Mission Endowment Fund – To help those in need locally and internationally.
