Brayden Austin Ward, a remarkable young man from Brevard, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the tender age of 19.

Born with a heart of gold, Brayden's love for his family and friends was boundless. He was a graduate of Brevard High School's class of 2024 and had recently embarked on a welding program at Blue Ridge Community College. His passion for life was evident in everything he pursued, from his job at Corky's Dawg House to his love for playing basketball and working on his cherished Silverado. Brayden's smile could light up a room, and his laughter was contagious. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will continue to celebrate his life and cherish the memories they shared with him.

Brayden is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bridget and Will Nesslein; his father, Darren Ward; his sister and brother, Makenzie and Cameron Ward; bonus-sisters Kelsey and Mia Nesslein, his grandparents, great-grandparents, great-uncles, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 25, 2025 at The Cindy Platt Boys and Girls Club Gymnasium, 11 Gallimore Rd., Brevard, NC 28712.
