Balsam Grove – Brian Keith Rathbone, age 59 passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Born on November 4, 1963 in Yancy County, he was the son of Robert Keith Rathbone and Inza Shalma Blakeley Rathbone.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Jesse Kates Rathbone and Phyllis Smith Gant and Furman Blakeley, and uncle, Phillip Rathbone.

In addition to his parents, survivors include daughters, Laura Ann Rathbone Lively and husband Johnathon of Rosman and Kristian D'Ann Rathbone of Rosman, brothers, Blair Rathbone of Yancey County, Brandon Rathbone (Trish) of Balsam Grove, sister, Deidre McCurry and husband Buddy of Balsam Grove, Uncles, Lloyd and Cecil, aunts, Phylura. Mabel,and Kat, grandchildren, Claire York, Isaiah Keith Rigdon, Kayden Lee O'Shields, Ayvah'lee Janis O'Shields, Rose'lee Ann Frady, nephews, Squid, B.J., Darren and Blake, nieces, Marci and Krystal, loving dog, Snack and special friends, Sandra McCall, Toby York and June York.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
