On July 19, 2019 Brodus Jones went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with several illnesses. He was born on June 26, 1942 in Transylvania County to the late Ben Harrison Jones and Mary Laura Owens Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Jones and Patricia Ann Jones; one brother, Bert Jones; two daughters, Kheila Ann and Mary Elizabeth; one son, Jerry Joe; one granddaughter, Christina Michelle. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Martha Palmer Jones; one daughter, Sheila McGhee and husband Timothy; four grandchildren, Rickie, Steven and wife Zoila, Trish and Judy Justus; four great-grandchildren, Roman, Izzy, Christina and Dominic; three brothers, Brandon, Charlie and Stanley Jones; two sisters, Birdell Phillips and Martha Burrell; several nieces and nephews. He funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the family home. Interment will be in Brodus Jones Cemetery.
