Bruce Doyle Smith, age 78, of Brevard died Friday April 12, 2013. He was born July 25, 1934 in Haywood County to the late George Samuel and Flora Elizabeth Freeman Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Delores Dean Smith and his son Steven Smith. Mr. Smith had retired after working many years for Ecusta and loved the natural surroundings of his home in Transylvania County. Survivors include his sister, Betty Jo Kilby of Haywood County and niece Jaimie K. Crawford of Haywood County. Graveside services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Waynesville with Rev. Tommy Owen officiating.
